Hackbridge Community Cinema

Hackbridge Community Cinema

Establishing a community cinema to reduce isolation and improve social cohesion.

This project will create a community cinema in All Saints Community Centre in Hackbridge for the benefit of residents from all generations and ethnicities. Hackbridge Community Cinema will enhance happiness and well-being by reducing isolation and improving social cohesion. It will provide signposting to other agencies for vulnerable and unemployed people.

The community cinema will be run by local volunteers and will show monthly day-time films – old and new favourites – offering an opportunity for afternoon socializing and providing current information leaflets and other material, e.g. for local volunteering opportunities, debt counselling, etc. Having the facility in Hackbridge will mean local people can enjoy films without the need to travel to large cinema complexes. Admission will be free enabling everyone to come along – with the cost of hall and film hire covered by donations
